Coconut Flow captures the "industrial tourism" landscape of the Coconut Palm Group, a beverage manufacturer based in Hainan, China. The film employs a reverse chronological structure, tracing the production process backward from boxed beverages to the raw fruit. Visuals unfold through juxtaposed and repetitive camera setups, accompanied by a continuous soundscape of roaring machinery. As the imagery retreats to the origin of the industrial chain, the frame focuses on pairs of hands cutting and peeling coconuts. The source of this highly precise manufacturing remains raw manual labor.
